How much filler will be used?
With our current lip filler treatment, £120 covers up to 1ml. That does not mean every lip needs — or should receive — a full 1ml. For a subtle result, the practitioner may use less product to hydrate the lip, soften fine vertical lip lines, correct minor asymmetry, or add light definition to the border.
Where more visible volume or projection is appropriate, more of the syringe may be used, up to 1ml. The volume and placement are decided against your anatomy rather than a fixed 0.5ml-or-1ml menu. If the safest or most natural result requires less, we stop at less.
For larger changes, some patients prefer to split treatment across two appointments a few weeks apart, letting the lip settle fully before the second visit is planned against a genuine baseline. This staged approach can give a more predictable result than one larger appointment for anyone moving from a flat lip to significant volume.
None of this is decided by the price list — it's decided in consultation, against your lip shape, facial proportions and what you're trying to achieve.

Swelling and downtime
Some swelling in the first 24–48 hours is normal — lips are highly vascular tissue, and any injection triggers a local inflammatory response. Lips often look fuller than the eventual result in the first day or two, sometimes settling slightly unevenly before evening out.
Most people return to normal activities the same day, though we'd advise against anything strenuous — intense exercise, saunas, anything that raises heart rate or blood pressure — for 24–48 hours, as this can increase swelling and bruising. Visible swelling typically settles over 3–5 days, with any residual puffiness usually gone within a week to ten days. Bruising is possible but not universal, and is usually manageable with makeup after the first 24 hours.
We don't assess the "final" result at the one-day mark — that's swelling, not shape. The proper assessment point is around two weeks, once the lip has taken on its true post-treatment form, which is exactly what the included clinical review is for.
Natural results versus overfilling
We consistently work toward restoration, not transformation — a fuller, better-defined version of your own shape, rather than a look that immediately signals "filler."
Overfilled lips are rarely the result of one appointment. More often it's the gradual accumulation of "just a touch more" without stepping back to reassess how the lip looks at rest. Part of our clinical responsibility is knowing when to say you already have enough — if that's the case, we'll tell you rather than proceeding purely because it's been requested.
Dissolving and correction
Hyaluronic acid filler is not permanent, and it isn't irreversible either. If a previous treatment — with us or elsewhere — hasn't settled the way you'd hoped, it can usually be dissolved using hyaluronidase and reassessed from a clean starting point.
Dissolving begins with a separate clinical assessment. Where hyaluronidase is considered appropriate, the prescriber will determine whether treatment can proceed that day or whether further information or a separate appointment is needed. There's typically a waiting period afterwards — commonly around two weeks — before any re-treatment, so the tissue can fully settle and we can judge your true baseline before deciding what, if anything, to add back.

What actually happens at the appointment
Before treatment. We review medical history, medications, allergies and previous treatments, then agree a specific plan for volume and placement.
During treatment. Topical numbing cream is typically applied beforehand; Lumifil Kiss also contains lidocaine, providing further numbing during injection. The treatment itself takes around 20–30 minutes.
Immediately after. Some swelling is expected straight away. We talk you through what's normal, give written aftercare advice, and make sure you know how to reach us with any concerns.
In the days that follow. Swelling reduces day by day, typically settling substantially within 3–5 days. Support in this window is part of the appointment price, not a separate call-out fee.
