Introduction

urbanRX is a Advanced Nurse prescriber-led clinical service designed to support aesthetic clinics with safe, compliant prescribing and robust clinical governance.

Based near Market Drayton and operating across Staffordshire, Cheshire, Shropshire, Wales and the wider West Midlands, urbanRX integrates directly into clinic workflows to ensure that every prescription is issued in line with current UK legislation, professional standards, and best clinical practice.

This is not simply a prescribing service.

It is a complete clinical support framework — built to protect patients, practitioners, and businesses alike.

Aesthetic Prescribing in the UK:

Legal & Professional Standards

The prescribing of Prescription Only Medicines (POMs) within aesthetics is governed by strict regulatory and professional expectations.

Prescribers must:

  • Undertake an appropriate clinical assessment

  • Have sufficient knowledge of the patient

  • Be accountable for all prescribing decisions

  • Work within NMC, GMC, GPhC and MHRA and NICE guidance

Remote Prescribing in Aesthetics

There is increasing scrutiny within the sector around remote prescribing.

A woman video calls a doctor on a laptop in a medical office. She smiles, while the doctor takes notes. Stethoscope on the desk.

Current professional standards require that:

  • A patient must be appropriately assessed prior to prescribing

  • The prescriber must retain full accountability

  • Clinical decisions must be based on direct, informed consultation

There is no recognised framework that supports fully remote, non-assessed prescribing for aesthetic treatments.

urbanRX is structured around these principles, ensuring every prescription is clinically justified, appropriately assessed, and professionally accountable.

A Flexible Model That Works With Your Clinic

urbanRX recognises that clinics operate differently depending on size, demand and growth stage.

Our service adapts to your business, offering:

Flexible Integration

  • Regular clinic-based prescribing sessions

  • Ad hoc or on-demand prescribing support

  • Scalable input aligned with clinic growth

Platform Compatibility

urbanRX integrates with your existing systems, including:

  • Faces Consent (our preferred platform)

  • Multiple pharmacy and prescribing platforms

  • Existing clinic workflows

This ensures minimal disruption and maximum continuity for both your team and your clients.

Why We Use Faces Consent

urbanRX strongly recommends and actively supports the use of Faces Consent as the primary digital platform for aesthetic clinics.

Faces Consent provides:

  • Fully digitised medical history and consent forms

  • Secure, cloud-based storage of patient data

  • Streamlined treatment documentation

  • Integrated prescribing pathways

  • Full audit trail for compliance and governance

The platform is designed specifically for aesthetics and enables clinics to operate with:

  • Consistency

  • Traceability

  • Legal protection

In simple terms, it allows clinics to demonstrate that every step of the patient journey — from consultation to consent to treatment — is properly documented and defensible.
